Starting with school in 2005 – 2006 I had the opportunity to attend Bexley College and substitute part of my GCSEs with qualifications in a trade. Gaining 1 year qualifications in Painting & Decorating,  Bricklaying and Carpentry & Joinery I chose to continue with carpentry for a full qualification which I completed before attending college at 16.

With a college qualification for Carpentry & Joinery already in hand I decided to take on the challenge of IT Systems Support and Computer Sciences completing 5 years of further education and leaving with multiple skills and knowledge in Hardware Support, Software Support, System Networking, Website Design and loads more.

Leaving college I used every practical skill I had learned though various roles and for multiple companies, forever learning new skills along the way I landed contract work with SKANSKA and Laing O’Rourke working along side civil engineers as well as continuing to work as a freelance carpenter. With full support of the guys I was working with I wanted to pursue the idea of a career in Civil Engineering, unfortunately with a recession full steam ahead steady work was needed.

Landing at Helix I began my Set Building career where I was and have been for over 13 years. Working on well over 200 high quality TV sets, film sets, commercial sets and various PR, Event and Exhibition activations handling budgets in the millions of £s. While at Helix I learned and mastered skills from CNC machining, CAD, 3D modelling and HD rendering, electrical engineering and interactive electronics, metalworking, spray finishing, scenic finishing and more.

Starting out in the workshop I quickly worked my way through to management then upper management where I’ve combined all my knowledge I collected over all my careers and education.

Being a construction manager for TV, film, commercials is my passion and I pride myself in being able to give the client my best work 100% of the time from start to finish.
